BOLT ULTRA BATTERIES

 

 HISTORY

 
Bolt Ultra Battery was designed in 1992 specifically for the Military, after seven years of testing by the Military, the bolt ultra battery became certified and licensed by the Military for use in fighter jets, submarines, telecommunications, UPS and Solar Energy applications.
 
In the year 2005 we started producing batteries for the general public with the focus of overcoming the drawbacks of the lead-acid batteries. We produce a pollution free battery that includes no corrosion to the plates, electrodes, joints and connections, no acid-mist, no pollution from the electrolyte, higher energy & power density, 100% recyclable, high charging and discharging capabilities with 2200+ charging cycles.
 
Bolt ultra batteries life design is 15+ years based on applications using 50% or less depth of discharge, other applications that use higher discharge over 50% will use more cycles over the battery's life. The bolt ultra battery delivers three to four times more cycles than that of the lead-acid batteries.
 
The proprietary patented electrolyte of liquid low sodium silicate compound is PH neutralized in nature, hence does not have any corrosion or pollution during manufacturing or operations. It is also because of this nature that the battery has been awarded the highest industrial environmental protection award – the Certificate of Green Star in 2010, acknowledging the green nature and contribution of our environmental friendly batteries.
 
BOLT ULTRA BATTERY
 
Bolt Ultra Batteries work superior in low and high temperatures between -40⁰C to +70⁰C (-40⁰F to 158⁰F)
Lead-acid batteries in general lose approximately 40% of their cycles and capacity for every eight degrees (8⁰) increase over ambient temperatures of +25⁰C and require vast amounts of cooling systems that are expensive to operate. Bolt ultra batteries will function normal even in the very hottest environments up to +70⁰C with no cooling systems required. Bolt ultra batteries also functions normal at very low temperatures of -40⁰C without the need of external battery warmers or warm-up time
 
For fast charging capability, bolt ultra batteries can be recharged to 90% capacity within 60 minutes with a high current charger. Other advantages include low internal resistance of 2mΩ / 5mΩ (Milli-Ohmand low self-discharge rate of approximately 10% per year. Most Lead-Acid batteries self discharge rate is approximately 3% per month or 36% per year.
 
The Bolt Ultra Battery when being stored is recommended to be stored at the ambient temperature of +20⁰C to +25⁰C.
 
Bolt ultra battery does not have any off-gassing or visible temperature rise during normal operations, therefore, isolating the battery from other equipment is not required, saving on construction costs and other maintenance costs for many years.
 
For renewable energy applications, programmed set-points in the charge controller for Gel batteries will sufficiently charge the batteries. You can consistently bring the batteries down to a 50% DoD giving a little added capacity to the rule of thumb, because of the low internal resistance and no internal memory in bolt ultra batteries eliminates the need for a BTS (battery temperature sensor) within the battery enclosure, further decreasing costs for additional components. One of the greatest benefits in using the bolt ultra battery comes out of the electrolyte’s properties, at the end of the batteries life, because the bolt ultra battery is non-hazardous and has PH neutral solution consisting of ammonium sulfate it can actually be used as a high grade fertilizer and the rest of the battery recycled. The recycling of the lead becomes much easier and environmentally sound because the electrolyte does not degrade the plate or lead making it very easy to refurbish the battery at the batteries end of life at a location near by saving approximately 40% to 50% on battery replacement and shipping costs.
 
The Bolt ultra battery has no internal memory effect, therefore has the capability to high discharge to 100% with no damage to the battery, however, it is recommended to recharge the battery immediately after high discharge to prolong the battery life and retain cycles. The bolt ultra battery has approximately 95% lower internal resistance than that of the lead acid batteries. The bolt ultra battery is maintenance free, tightly sealed, non spillable and does not require dangerous goods certificate for transportation by air, land or sea.
 
Bolt ultra batteries are non explosive and are used in the Military fighter jets, submarines and many other applications such as air ports, oil & gas or flammable sites. UPS cell towers use the bolt ultra batteries in remote areas because there is very little to no maintenance, secondly, no separate enclosures are necessary due to the green nature of the battery that does not emit acid mist or any other pollution from the electrolyte, this protects equipment, saving thousands of dollars in maintenance costs.

This revolutionary state-of-the-art battery can be refurbished at the batteries end of life to save on battery replacement costs and transportation costs, the refurbishing of the battery can take place in a nearby location in most countries around the world, saving you approximately 40% of the battery cost, and 100% of transportation costs.

Production Excellence

Bolt Ultra batteries are produced in green certified ISO-9001 temperature controlled assembly area of 100,000 square-meter facility. The quality assurance department performs rigorous testing and inspections on every battery produced, with incoming material inspection, in process testing and final inspection, every process is to ensure that each product that leaves our factory exceeds our customers expectations.
